Journey with Emily Reed and Jack Harrison to the magical island of Ithaca…
Let us take you on an enchanted week long ESCAPE
Ithaca is an island seeped in ancient mysticism- the home of Homer’s Greek hero Odysseus and of Itha108. The venue is a unique and wonderful eco- sanctuary which offers a wonderful space for yoga, meditation and a place to just “be”. Using local stones and materials from the island as well as creative yet simple designs, the owner has sealed her heart (and exceptional eye for design!) in to every detail.
We will practice 3-4 hours each day in one of the 3 yoga shalas at Itha108.
Sunrise morning meditation/contemplation, pranayama and a more energising physical practice.
Sunset sessions will be more appropriate for the evening vibe- a mixture of gentle yoga, restorative poses, yoga nidra (guided relaxation) and kirtan. Jack is an international musician, folklorist and yoga teacher. In the evening yoga practice he will soothe us to his haunting, mystical music which will transport the soul! See here for more on Jack.
Ithaca is one of the smallest Ionian islands, radiating with Grecian authenticity. The retreat overlooks the sea and eastern coastline of neighbouring Kefalonia from an elevated wilderness of olive trees and rocks with a hidden beaches nestling below.
All bedrooms can be either single or double occupancy. All are en-suite and air-conditioned with mosquito nets, coco-mat mattresses (natural/eco design), wood panelled ceilings and views across the Ionian sea towards Kefalonia. Each bedroom has a unique and eclectic design from traditional Indian/Rajasthani or Greek to New York savvy.
There is a choice of staying in the luxury house or options of staying in an authentic, luxurious Mongolian yurt.
The three Mongolian yurts are light and airy inside, sleeping between one to four people. They contain comfortable beds with mosquito nets, coco-mat mattresses, plenty of shelving, and share an outdoor bathroom carved into the rocks, with a sea grass roof. Pathways and steps provide access to the yurt platforms, each with outdoor seating, positioned high among rocks and trees with beautiful sea views.

ABOUT EMILY & JACK
Emily is a “seeker”. She is continually inspired to live the fullest life she can through yoga philosophy, meditation and ayurveda.
Emily discovered yoga in 2001 whilst searching for a remedy for chronic insomnia. She later encountered the healing power of ayurveda whilst in Kerala in 2006. Little did she know then that these ancient practices were to open up a deep chasm of intrigue, study and adventure.
Through the yoga practices Emily helps people understand the power of the mind and ways to harness it. Emily encourages people to feel from within- sensing the subtleties of yoga and the unconscious habits of the body and mind. She helps people develop an awareness of the physical body through slow flowing movement with attention to alignment. Her sessions incorporate pranayama (breath work) and meditation techniques to help people experience the therapeutic and more profound aspects of yoga. These ingredients offer a well rounded, completeness to her sessions.
Emily is RYT500hrs (ERYT200&300hrs) qualified. She teaches on the ISHTA yoga Teacher Training in London. She continues to travel and study with her teachers namely Alan Finger, Clive Sheridan, Rod Stryker and Emil Wendel. She spends time each year in an ayurvedic community in Tamil Nadu, South India where she studies Ayurvedic philosophy and theory with her wonderful teachers Dr A.R. Ramadas and Dr Ram Kumar.
